Most software review sites are pay-to-play. Vendors pay for "top rated" badges, "featured" placements, and review volume. The sites look credible but the rankings are purchased.
We built Zotopie to be different. Every tool is evaluated on its merits. Our affiliate links — when they exist — are disclosed clearly and never influence our ratings. A tool with no affiliate program gets the same honest treatment as one that pays us a commission.
Each review is based on direct testing and research. Our evaluation criteria include:
Ratings are on a 1–5 scale. A score above 4.0 indicates a tool we would actively recommend. Scores below 3.5 indicate significant limitations that should factor into your decision.
Some links on Zotopie are affiliate links — when you click through and make a purchase, we earn a commission from the vendor at no extra cost to you. We disclose this in our footer and on every page with affiliate links.
Only a small subset of tools we cover have affiliate programs we participate in. The majority of tools we review earn us nothing — and we review them anyway because they're useful to our readers.
